Each year the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS® gives scholarship(s) for post secondary education.

Homeward Bound Foundation:

1. Lender and selling broker must both be Greater Portland Board of REALTOR^® members.
2. Participants in program must meet income guidelines. All sources of income in the household are counted in this calculation.
3. Copy of Uniform Application (1003) and lender commitment letter must accompany grant application form. Grant application must be certified by the participating lender’s underwriter. Grant application package is then forwarded to the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS^® office located at 2271 Congress St, Portland, ME 04102, telephone number 207-775-1097.
4. Total grant cannot exceed $500 per borrower/co-borrower. Grant is to be used for settlement charges as allowed by loan program guidelines.
5. Grant will not be granted if closing costs are paid by anyone other than borrower/co-borrower.
6. Grants must be used within 60 calendar days of approval by Homeward Bound Foundation Approval Committee.
7. Grant will be paid directly to closing agent at time of closing. After closing is completed, signed HUD-1 Settlement Statement is to be provided to Homeward Bound Foundation for accounting purposes.
8. Funds will be used on a first come, first served basis.
9. Committee decision is final.
